The Head of Design is instrumental in leading Greentank’s ideation and innovation strategy to drive new hardware from concept to market. This is the role for an ambitious individual comfortable with a blank canvas and driven to define an industry.

Requirements

• Lead advanced innovation strategy for new product design
• Lead Design for Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) projects
• Transforming product vision into high fidelity mockups
• Analyzing market trends, creating and leading focus groups to inform design decisions
• Oversight of design functions related to product development and mass production
• Leads and co-leads innovation projects at all stages of the innovation process to enable continual progress towards Greentank’s commitments and goals
• Present new product concept and design ideas to leadership
• Identify opportunities for future innovation initiatives in the context of the overall Greentank Roadmap
• Extract requirements, identifying use cases and user scenarios, and incorporate research findings to inform Greentank design direction
• Implement and facilitate new innovation tools and frameworks
• Liaise and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and key executive stakeholders to develop, establish and continually evolve our innovation portfolio
• Builds, presents and drive-forward innovation business cases which are defined by unique market opportunities in line with Greentank’s mission
• Identify and work with relevant world-class vendors and consultants to accelerate our mission
• Management, mentoring and guidance of Design Team
• Provide support and validation for new customization treatments and material options
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

 

• 8+ years of professional experience in innovation-based role, ideally with a focus on project leadership on customer-driven design thinking, industrial design, product design/development, and user experience research/design
• Manufacturing process and materials knowledge
• Experience leading dynamic teams and cross-functional relationships within a fast-paced business
• Expert knowledge of core design principles and the ability to apply them to interface design, including micro-interaction
• Self-driven and proactive nature
• Experience in process creation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Keyshot, Visualize and Solidworks (or equivalent tools)
• Advanced understanding of industrial manufacturing processes, material, surface finish and textures
• Advanced experience with model making and prototyping
• Advanced knowledge of branding, ergonomics, and human factors
