Manager, People & Culture Operations

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our client who is in the Cannabis Design, Development and Manufacturing space is looking for a Manager of People & Culture.  As an HR advisor, a collaborative contributor, and a creative problem solver you are energized by helping the business build momentum through effective HR business practices. This will be successfully achieved through the management of recruitment, employee engagement, organizational planning, training and development, performance management, legislated and procedural compliance, and general HR administration.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Manager, People and Culture will encourage and promote a culture of excellence by developing and implementing people strategies that are aligned with the corporate strategies and objectives.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Full cycle recruitment; create and implement recruiting best practices and processes, training, and onboarding of new employees
  • Promote and build our client's brand by ensuring recruitment marketing efforts are strategic, industry specific and successful
  • Keep current on HR policies, programs, laws, industry trends, and new developments
  • Provide management with detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to give a clear picture of what’s happening in this critical function of our business
  • Maintenance and management of the HRMS and other HR related tools
  • Implement and manage performance management tools
  • Support and coach managers through employee relation matters
  • Conduct general HR administrative tasks
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or related field; CHRP or CHRL considered an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years’ HR Management experience; experience working in a young, growing company is an asset
  • Ability to quickly establish and build effective working relationships, adapting style as needed
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution and time management skills
  • Ability to deliver results within a newly established role with little framework
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, building and adapting in the position to support the people and strategic goals of the organization
