Business Development Specialist

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada
We are currently leading a search for a Business Development Specialist on behalf of our client, a specialty events company located in Toronto. This person will be responsible for actively sourcing and pursuing corporate and private clients that are in need of event management services.

Position type: Full-time, Permanent

  • Research and qualify leads through a combination of cold calling, email alerts, social media platforms, referrals, etc.
  • Network with existing clients to obtain internal referrals to other departments within a company
  • Set up initial phone calls with potential clients to discuss the Company's event management services
  • Coordinate tastings for Event Managers to attend with potential clients
  • Providing superior customer service 
  • Be a brand ambassador for the Company
  • Shadow events to learn about the industry 

Required Experience & Qualifications:
  • Some experience in a similar lead generation or sales support capacity
  • Comfortable picking up the phone and striking up conversations with people
  • Marketing background would be an asset 
  • Proactive, driven, and curious - you want to connect the dots and make as many connections as possible!
  • An interest in the hospitality/food/event industry
