Event Manager

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada
A Specialty Events Company is seeking a full-time Event Manager to add to their team of event management professionals. In this role, you will be required to plan and execute numerous private and corporate events in the GTA. Industry experience is a MUST!

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of an event
  • Design custom menu proposals
  • Meet with potential clients, discuss all aspects of their event and make site visits to venues
  • Create menus and schedules for staff
  • Liaise efficiently between the culinary staff, service staff and the client when on site at events
  • Research and talk to new potential clients, attend networking events and take part in company presentations
  • Create invoices for completed events and follow up with all payments

Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the events industry, working with a hospitality company
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and a high level of creativity
  • A strong ability to problem solve, multi-task and perform well under high-pressure situations
  • A positive attitude, highly motivated and energetic
  • A passion for food and events
  • Post-secondary education (Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma)
  • A valid driver’s license is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office and Excel
